Hands-down the friendliest, most efficient and BEST VALUE man-with-a-van service in central Brighton. Students: don't bother looking elsewhere!
Max and his trusty silver steed have over 6 years experience of getting their fellow Brightonians safely & efficiently moved around the city, with the minimum of fuss - and always with a smile.
Prices for a quick pickup/dropoff in central Brighton start at just £15! With dozens of rave reviews on social media, you can be confident of an efficient, friendly and exceptional value service.
This service is for Brighton & Hove only, no long trips outside the city, but if you're moving across town and don't need a full-size removals van, just drop Max a line via the contact form - and save yourself ££££s!
The van is perfectly suited to individuals, students and bands with a decent quantity of boxes, bags, instruments etc, but who are not moving a lot of bulky furniture for which a full-size removals van might be needed.
Meet Dusty, the new Silver Bullet!
After a protracted search over the summer for a 'ready to work' van that met all our criteria - all to no avail - Dusty arrived with us at the start of September 2020 in need of attention before entering service.
Suffering from a number of issues, having been overworked and underloved by previous owners, this silver beauty presented several challenges at the outset. But painstaking work has progressed throughout September to get her shipshape for her new role around town, and she is now settling in nicely.
Once again a huge THANK YOU! to the crowdfund contributors who helped make Dusty possible. Your donations remain fully redeemable at any future booking with us.
Nothing will ever come close in looks, charm or utility to the original Silver Bullet, stolen last June and never retrieved. It was a cherished family member that will always be sorely missed, a well preserved and hugely loved year 2000 example of the now classic and vanishingly rare Mazda E2200.
But Dusty has a Euro 4 engine, which means that her emissions of diesel soot particulates, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides are less than HALF those of the original Silver Bullet.
Obviously even cleaner engines are now available, but Dusty - a 2009 Renault Trafic - is a stepping stone towards a much lower emissions van, and is a major step forward in making our service more town-centre friendly. Eventually our aim is to provide a fully electric zero emissions removals service within the city.
Other measures we'll continue to take in the meantime to minimise our contribution to inner city pollution levels, and climate emissions, include avoiding rush-hour bookings, streamlining daily schedules to reduce mileage between bookings, and routing around regularly congested areas.

The Original Silver Bullet
It is with great sadness that I have to announce the recent theft of the truly special van that has been the foundation of this business for the last 6 years.
No longer manufactured in the UK since 2002, and often described as a 'Tardis', the Mazda E2200 was a slimline yet deceptively spacious multi-purpose van. It used a rare "Cab Over Engine" design that gave it an exceptionally lengthy cargo area, making it both an exceptional camper/leisure vehicle and a superb compact removals van. Its extraordinary interior length allowed it to swallow up enormous sofas and wardrobes even though it was only about the same total length as a standard VW Transporter.
The original Silver Bullet was a rare near-pristine example of this much sought after vehicle, and it would happily navigate the narrow streets of Brighton with exceptional grace and style.
It was sadly stolen in June 2020 - presumed for export - as a result of its desirability and value as a compact & rugged work, leisure and transportation vehicle.
I am currently only offering a door-to-door service, and as a general rule I will not be undertaking any work inside buildings or enclosed spaces. This means that where possible items being moved need to be ready for collection at street level when I arrive, and will usually only be unloaded to street level on delivery;
I will not usually carry passengers during bookings. Alternate transport arrangements will generally need to be made by customers.
I wear a mask & gloves while handling customer's belongings, and during unavoidable close proximity to customers.

*** Extra worker is not required for most jobs, normally it's just myself and the customer doing the work. The more you help, the quicker it will be :) Extra worker must be booked at least 7 days ahead, so that they can be recruited. Minimum 45 minutes is charged when hiring extra worker.
Strictly clean, dry household items only. The van is sometimes used for camping so dirty or leaky items will not be accepted.
No waste-disposal trips to the household recycling centre, sorry. It's not worth the £5,000 fine! (It counts as commercial waste.)
Fragile and poorly packaged items are transported at customer's own risk.
In the event of a last-minute cancellation, the callout fee remains payable in full.
The student discount offer is currently suspended due to unexpected increases in operating costs.
Please make sure that furniture is flat-packed as much as possible prior to my arrival, so that it can actually be removed from the collection address without significant delay. Although I will do my best I cannot always guarantee I will have the tools or the time to assist with this.
Not a taxi service. Passengers are not usually accepted due to COVID-19. As a rule please make alternate arrangements wherever possible.
Customers are responsible for checking that furniture will fit in their new place before making their booking. No liability can be accepted for items that the customer leaves outside after delivery having failed to get them into their intended destination.
